Throughout this enriching experience, kids will learn about American Sign Language (ASL), including how to introduce themselves by finger spelling their names, and about the Deaf Community. ASL is a visual language that relies on both hand signs and facial expressions. Understanding that facial expressions are an important form of everyone's communication, kids will play games that rely on using facial expressions to communicate information. They'll also play a lip-reading myth game, read a story about a Deaf family, learn about notable Deaf individuals throughout history, and inventions Deaf people have created (like FaceTime!).
